Halloween Costume Ideas from my Twitter Feed

It’s that time of year again, when I anxiously realize I have no Halloween costume.

My costume will probably result from a frantic last-minute trip to Big Lots, as it usually does, but until that happens I’m consulting my Twitter feed for a 2012 zeitgeist of pop culture-riffed and fashion-oriented costume trends.

Top Halloween Costume Trends of 2012:

1. Honey Boo Boo in Glitz with Go-Go Juice
2. Honey Boo Boo in Casual Attire with Well-Timed Belly Flashes
3. Glitzy (just add a tiara.)
3.5. Glitzy & Honey Boo Boo as a couple’s theme
4. Gangnam Style
5. Kimye
6. Choupette Lagerfeld
7. Anyone from Downton Abbey

I doubt this qualifies for the list, but I’m really really hoping to see Darth Vader Gotye this year:

And if I set aside enough time to hunt down the costume pieces, maybe I can hand out earrings instead of candy while sartorially saying, “these have always brought me luck:”

Or, how about going as a Halloween joke?

“For Halloween I’m dressing up as Person Who Says Hey The Second You Sign Into Any Kind Of Online Chat Service.”
-@mzeld

“For Halloween I’m going as that feeling you get at a store when you try to refold a sweater properly & put it back on the shelf.”
-@robdelaney

Or…..yanno, maybe I’m over-thinking Halloween.

As @RobinMcCauley says, “They should change the name ‘Halloween’ to something scarier like ‘Someone Posted Something On Your Timeline’.”
